Remember that Pamela met Lucas at Jamie's house originally-so Jamie put the bug in Lucas' ear, but that's it. At this point he's trying to let Pamela lead her own life. Once she's home and under his watchful eye again, he realizes something very bad happened in Boston and it doesn't take the man long to realize what it is.

When she's actually IN Boston I think he's trying to mind his own business to a certain extent. He's a little heartsore at the end of EU, so I think he's trying to rebuild his own life during that first part of 'Mermaid' as well. So, to be honest, I don't know how much he knows while it's actually taking place, because the man hasn't told me. :)
