Subject: I think a person's character and past experiences, as well as current circumstances, help shape the choices you make. For example, Lucien is one of those people, IMHO, who is born evil; nothing anybody said or did could have made him good or moral in any way. If he'd been born in another time or place, he would have channelled his hatred and cruelty against blacks, women, Jews or some other group he considered beneath him. Jamie and Casey were both born with the innate ability to be inspirational leaders -- what they became leaders of and how they lead is a combination of personality and life circumstances (being born working-class vs aristocrat).

  • I remember seeing that quote about Connacht when reading about Irish history after having read Cindy's books. Her work is what prompted me to look into Irish history and eventually get into Irish music. Fascinating stuff, really can boil one's blood though. (NT) -- E, 20:15:28 07/05/09 Sun
  • I meant the quote is what boiled my blood. (NT) -- E, who will now log in properly, 20:16:43 07/05/09 Sun
