Subject: Exit Unicorns Chapters 11 and 12

Morning Re-read Shammies! I am covering chapters 11 to 20. I will cover 2 chapters for the first three days and then one chapter per day for the remainder of the week.

Many thanks to Carla for getting the re-read organized and started - it feels wonderful to be back in the books again!

I have decided to post a question or comment for the chapters. I thought since we have the author along with us for the discussion that I would post some Q & A with Cindy about her writing. I hope you all enjoy this week!


Question to Cindy: Which of your characters spoke to you first?

Cindy's Answer: Pamela spoke to me first and she was someone different than who she has become (there are very old chunks of the story that took place in New York and Vietnam) but then Casey showed up right behind Jamie and the rest is history. Or HIStory as it turns out. :)


Chapter 11 - “To Hell or Connacht” and Chapter 12 -"Altarboys and Angels" Discussion

I am intrigued by chapter titles and chapter 11 was no exception. Here is a link to the history of the phrase CLICK HERE FOR BBC LINK. What is the significance of chapter 12's title?

We have met Jamie, Casey, Pamela, Pat, Devlin, Yevgena and Lucien to name just a few. The chararcters' stories are coming to light now as the plot develops. Thinking about the previous chapters along with chapters 11 and 12, what motivates a given character’s actions? Do you think those actions are justified or ethical or are they the result of freedom of choice or of destiny?
