Subject: 'Both how we really are and how we are seen.' That is so true, girl, there's such a disparity between those two things way too often. That's why good friends are so important, so that we are 'seen' for who we truly are. I have tickets for tomorrow night, btw. :)
In reply to: Dreen 's message, "There are favorite bits and pieces throughout, but this sentence stood out to me this time around. pg. 187 the last sentence..."The sea was like a woman, a tricky business, never quite understood but respected for its vagaries." I love the comparisons Cindy makes between land, sea, air and human...especially women. I have always felt empowered as a woman by her, and it is in her writing that I see what a deep understanding she has of herself and us as women in this world. Both how we really are and how we are seen." on 12:34:46 07/06/09 Mon
