26) First what struck me here was that she wanted Casey to rollplay the rape scene. Violence beget violence? I'm not sure I could do that for my lover no matter how much they said they needed it. I'm glad it was honesty and gentless that finally calms her. IMHO Pamela realizes at this moment that Casey is willing to do whatever he can for her no matter how difficult but that he will never compromise his feelings. It's this realization of unconditional love that prompts her to proprose.

27) I think she realizes that it would be rather painful for him. While he may not be able to commit a loving heart to her the way she dreamed he still cares & worries and is not totally supportive of the relationship as it is.

28) Peg is a delight! I enjoy her spunk but am saddened by her heavy heart. Such a burden she has put upon herself.

Casey...of course that's how he would answer. It's who he is.

  • The reason Pamela wouldn't include Jamie is because this isn't particularly a man he approves of, and because the feel of the whole piece to me, at the time of the writing, was one of intimacy and I knew they should get married on the spot, it was how it was meant to be for them.
