Subject: Unicorns and Mermaid Re-Read

The idea of re-reading "Exit Unicorns" and "Mermaid in a Bowl of Tears" before the Shamrock Shindig came up about a month or so ago. It seemed like a good idea for several reasons: first, for those going on the Shindig to refresh their memories of the history and locations before treading upon the Auld Sod and second, just because it's been a while since we've discussed the Books here and there are some new Shammies who will have missed our original discussion so many moons ago.

To give us time to get through both of Cindy's marvelous books, I thought a start at the beginning of July would be best. According to my math (and yes, I used a calculator) if we cover approximately 11 chapters a week, this will allow us to finish both books by September 13th. Cindy writes BIG BOOKS, thankfully :)

Discussion leaders can handle their week any way they like: chapter summaries; just the high points; questions; queries; thoughts, etc. Whatever strikes their fancy and fits their schedule. Please let me know if you'd like to help out by taking a week (or two), which weeks work for you or if there's a particular set of chapters you'd like to cover. You can post a note here or pop me an e-mail at cdenisemurphy AT yahoo DOT ca. Take out the spaces and replace the AT with @ and the DOT with a .

Thanks in advance to all those who help out, all those who participate and of course to Cindy for writing such wonderful books. Slainte!
