Subject: Here's a wee snippet of an older Casey and Pamela- it's not something ever intended for a book, sometimes I just like to work on random bits that have no real place, but speak to me for whatever reason. >>>>

“Well I know what I was thinkin’ when I met ye, an’ I don’t imagine that boys have changed all that much since we were young.”

“Doesn’t mean she has to say ‘yes’ to any of them.” Pamela said, taking the kettle off the hob and filling the teapot up.

“She’s a deal of passion in her nature,” Casey said dourly as an old priest would.

“As do you, man- still do as a matter of fact, need I remind you that the children in this house have been aware just how much their parents enjoy one another’s company for some time now.”

“We’re married, though.”

“We weren’t when we first met, now were we?” She filled the kettle at the sink and put it on the back of the Aga.

“Yes, an’ look how we behaved. That’s hardly a comment designed to sooth me, woman.”

“Well,” she stretched up on tippy toe and kissed him, “I think it turned out pretty well, don’t you?”

“Aye, but I knew I was goin’ to marry ye, from the minute I set eyes on ye, still we ought to have waited. But ‘twasn’t easy with you at me to take ye to bed, day an’ night.”
