Subject: In Roman times when they referred to Hibernia they meant Ireland. In the Oxford English Dictionary it says 'Hibernian- of or referring to Ireland. A native or inhabitant of Ireland. So to be honest I'm not sure what Jack means. There are theories that say the orignal Scots were people who came from Ireland.
In reply to: Denise 's message, "I have a question, Cindy, which maybe you can answer. You describe Casey as having Hibernian charm, I suppose to mean Irish charm, but I'm a bit confused. In Jack Whyte's books the Hibernians are Scots, no mention of being Irish, even though the people immigrated from what is now Ireland to Caledonia, aka Scotland. Are Scotland's original inhabitants, excluding Picts, from Irish descent? Or is this just Jack" on 14:25:28 10/24/07 Wed
