Well, that's what I'm thinking that I just inferred that for some reason- not knowing the man so well. I guess I just knew that his wife was dead, he was stuck in this violence that he didn't like and blah , blah. Was I way off base, Cindy or did you think some of us might think that? - He worried that his father had, indeed, commited a form of suicide, but at a instinctual level knew it wasn't in his father's nature to do so. He tried to disguise this fear from Pat though, as he wanted Pat to think it was accidental, but as pointed out, Pat is very intuitive and there aren't too many smokescreens the boy can't see through.
