Are you building a rail or a door car?

Hey Lucky,
Is a go cart on steroids the same thing as a stick car? Seems like my rail was described as a stick car one time by someone on this site.
My engine is still in pieces and so is my want to to work on it. Maybe they will both come together in a month or two.
You about ready to step up your steroid program with a HEMI with a motorplate for a powerglide? Simple changover for less than a new chevy motor.

Oh yeah, I remember you calling it a stick car. No problem from me. It is pretty long, alright. 285" center to center but it pretty much takes that wheelbase to handle the ponies and give enough flex to handle a few bumps in the track at 199+mph(only 178 in the 1/8). You said if your motor had a block problem you would just weld it back together. Is it an aluminum block? The KB hemi I have for sale is all aluminum, a Stage 8, .100 tall deck with 4.375 sleeves (and 8 additional finished honed sleeves), raised cam block with gear drive and a billit oil pump available. KB or AJ 6 bolt intake and a large journal 296* cam / .500 lift cam in stock, too. Stage V rockers arms in stock. You might be surprised at how little difference there is in the cost of moving up to a hemi. I have some intakes, 14-71 Littlefield Hi Helix blower, fuel system parts, etc, etc, in stock now.
BTW, I need some chrome moly tubing welding soon. Are you interested in doing these mods in my shop. If I have any chassis mods done, you are the one I want to do them.
Let me know.
Thenks,
The Old Gray Haired Guy in the Blue Shirt

Well, 13 1/2 to 1 compression is a good starting place for a naturally aspirated alcohol engine. But if you get the CR up to about 15 to 1, you will see the difference in performance. Yes, it takes better engine building skills but the improved performance is well worth it.
I texted you my contact info about the chassis mods.

Why don't you two get a race car with doors? Too much of a challenge?

I am still trying to figure why in the world I would ever think about trying to propel a racecar that is heavier than what I have now down a race track. I thought most racers were looking for a way to lighten their car, not run something heavy on purpose. Heavier is only better in tractor pulling. I don't get it. Then again, I don't have a door car. If I had a door car or maybe just wishing that I had a door car at all, I would think the same as "henry". I'll "stick" with what I have.
