1. The Beatles transformed from a simple pop band to one of the most innovative rock bands in history. They started out with the sweet pop songs such as 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and evolved to slightly more complex pop songs such as 'Help' and moved onto the experimental songs such as 'Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds.' They started with the traditional sounds of pop but by the time they had finished, they had incorporated orchestration, the sitar, and many other unique instrumentation combinations.

2. The Beatles' first songs were poppy love songs, but gradually grew into topics that were very abstract.

3. A song like Elanor Rigby is not a rock song, but because it is sung by a rock group like the Beatles, it is considered rock. The Beatles were one of the first groups to incorporate a wide variety musical genres, and people did not know how to label a multi-faceted group except by one label; therefore this label was applied to all their music, and set a standard for the music industry.

4. I like the late Beatles catalog as these songs have influenced a wide variety of artists, and anyone can find a song they like.
