R2D2 You 2

You bark thunder tones into demonic whistles
that light the sky, shake the mountains of oblivion
the bugler of bigotry, the prince of persuasion
your mischievous cracked intentions
spun like spider webs to form the cell blocks
of our axed and worthy intentions
your flame the fire of Asmodai, eyes wet and shining
through pentagrams of greed you filter truth
until the madness explodes, left to us a crater
some great black hole where futures are dissolved
stark eyed and withered we climb concrete stairs
heads bowed afraid to glance into a strangers eyes
some grand illusion of a life once dreamt up
by a young and innocent child, now force fed
laughing at the state of our union, crying for
Mother, searching for a Dairy Queen
in between pews of thoughts now dusty
stored in memories meant for twisting things
into something better than they ever could have been
from the bone of the Bronx to the chapped streets of San Francisco
new high finance lights a corner at a time
Dow Jones baiting his hook in the muddy waters
of the Hudson, the stink of the great bay, while
in the burbs of masked reality, hypnotic
Mother's dart like mice, delivering their children
some hope or promise hidden between the grass blades
of some Sunday Soccer field, behind the
Bank of all America, who's name is proudly worn
on shirts of sons and daughters soon to lead us
further into this nightmare of no return

further down this wide and once gracious avenue
they turn a fast and disregarding eye to the
street people with Wall Mart carts shopping for a life
in the forgotten crevices of conscience
as if in some robotic trance
they say, "We all get what we've got coming"
as they're headed for some graveyard
in a brand new SUV, believing they're one step ahead
until the night falls and the children sleep
when they bury themselves in their slow deaths
all alone and so defeated
until the morning can no longer mask their fragility

O to hear the roar of laughter ammunition from a soul
the way the curves of inflection roll a mind to ease
we run to pleasure, as the pain inflicts its ware

Once we were Zues, riding towards Cantina
now we fight to free ourselves
from the fishbowls of insecurities
searching for a Zen man to lead us safely home

I strike the day in defiance of YOU
I stand up to your black blood
the Oil of the Valdez
on my feathers meant for graceful flight
I fight on with these words that make a difference
that will not ever lose their power
in the strength of voice, unyielding
I move on

O how these bones refuse to tire
how the new wind kisses a loving heart
how the day breaks on bad opinions
but, leaves me in state of thankfulness
before the moon gives way to sun
despite what I have seen
despite what I have lived
despite the death of you
my robot friend
walking what you claim is a straight line
in circles one day closer to
a phony's death

I look to the sun
where the wisdom of the ages
bends an oak branch to the East

I will not become a cynic
I will not bury my head in hot sand
I will ride the waves of promise
on the great and churning seas
to site a fallen star
out there past the mighty shining Venus
into a new dream
where new minds
look for rightful change
and if only for a moment
I will believe again in you
you who have become
so shallow in your thoughts
so pretentious in your plans
so vague and hollow in your truths

with my will forever unrelenting
I will call you on your ways
as I travel this great distance
through a thousand phony poems
until I light the candle of a new creation
something grander and more important
than your cliches, where the Indigo Ink
has stained your heart
as the black blood of oil
has stained our lives in greed
you will know of truth
when it finds you in the mirror

O-----and, I pray to my dear Lord
you have the strength to face yourself
my greatest fear is that you'll smile
before you turn and walk away.

Thanks Ann Marie,

There really is something to unleashing a slam.

If you ever get the chance to go to an event
don't pass it up because the good ones are
something to see.

Thanks Sweet Peach-- Wink!
