Reaching
desperately
toward the outstretched hand.
Fingers barely missing flesh on flesh...
Again.

Moon beams
filter softly
beautifully deceiving
through the curtain of sheerly hung clouds.
Futile.

If she
could only reach
into the abyss below.
Could she but grasp those fragile fingers...
Insight.

Inches
seperate her
from the truth that lies below.
She will believe that hand is reaching
for her.

A leap
of childlike faith
would shatter the surface.
Realities reflection revealed
at last.

The hand
she longs to reach...
It was her own outstretched.
Sometimes an inch is simply more
than space.
