] Date Posted: 12:51:40 12/03/07 Mon  Well, as some of you already know, writing poetry is fairly new for me. I have written a handful of things over my lifetime, most of which were assigned work in school, and that was as far as I had walked down the poetry path. About a year and a half ago, someone very special entered my world, or rather, allowed me to enter his, and he introduced me to the world of words in earnest. For a time, I was consummed with reading poetry, but did not believe that I had any within me. My friend encouraged me to make an attempt, and so I did. In fact, it was a word challenge that was my first effort. As you can imagine, I realized what an amazing outlet the process of writing a poem, well writing anything creative, was. I don't pretend to be polished, and poems don't come to me very often, but I have grown to love putting feelings to words. Sharing them is something I have had to learn to do, also. It's very nice to have a place like this to come and be able to do that, when I work up the nerve to share. I have known Andy, Sasha, Tammy, and Eric and maybe a few others I can't think of at the moment, since about the same time I began writing poetry. They've shared in my discovery of my own words and I'm so glad they're all here, too!
