] Date Posted: 18:09:13 11/26/07 Mon ![]() Hello to all! I have been writing poetry for as long as I have been writing. I believe my first poem was about Jesus written in the first grade as an introduction to a ten page hand written story of "The Life of Jesus". I attended a Catholic grade school in Northern New Jersey. I can remember my Mother returning from a teachers conference with a big smile on her face telling me how proud my teacher was of me for writing such a detailed story for Jesus. I also remember thinking "That's not right I think I wrote that story for me and that's probably a bad thing." I guess my point is that I write because I have to. I write almost every day and most days for hours. I am in my forties, a very proud father of two beautiful girls, Michelle and Maureen, and grandfather of the most precious little girl in the world to me little Kayla. More than anything thing else my poetry is based on the essence of human nature. At times it is preachy and long but, you won't find me curbing my voice much. Most of what I write has been labeled by publishers as Inspirational Poetry. I have a great respect for humanity and I base my life on the faith that love shall always shine the greatest light to lead us on. I am also a musician, songwriter, and photographer. I created the Motel about two and a half years ago as a means to provide a small intimate setting where my friends and family could visit to read my muse as well as some of my dear friends. I first met Sasha at the Poetry Castle quite some years ago now. I was immediately drawn to her incredible raw talent. Her voice lifted right off of the page and I was well aware of her skills even back then. We quickly became fans of each others writing and later our friendship grew over time. Today I consider Sasha to be an important part of my life even beyond the realm of MMM and poetry itself. We are very close friends united here by our passion for poetry and outside of here by our respect for each other and deep bond of friendship. I asked Sasha in September of 2007 if she would like to be the co-owner of the Motel so that we could create a very special place together for poets, writers, and artists to be able to share their talents and gifts in a community setting. She gladly accepted and has since worked very hard along with me and a few others to bring the Motel to life. I have known Shalah, Janel, Christine, Mireille, Tammy, Stephanie, Eric, and others that have posted here for some time as well. I consider myself blessed by the presence of all of you in my life. It is my dream that people can come here and feel at home without any sense of drama or politics. I am always available for any of you that need me for anything and that goes way beyond the poetry or the Motel itself. No need to list my personal poetry or photography links. They are available at the bottom of the lobby page where we have banners promoting the sites of our friends in the muse. I thank you all for becoming a member and joining with us to make the Motel something really special. It has already become a wonderful place and I look forward to meeting new friends as we continue to kick back and relax at the Muse Mongers Motel. My Best to all and always, andy spaschak [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 17:29:05 12/01/07 Sat well yer warmth rubbed off on me :) - you wrote a poem years ago now, that i want to search out. In comments, you said you wrote it automatically. It was long, but i remember being stitched into every word. Now that i have more time to read, i can enter the pantry that i always knew holds hours of tastings, (and probably some rotten onions and potatoes, there always is, um isn't there?) where that metaphor came from, i have no idea.. must be hungry lol well oftimes silence barbs me, but apparently it's a ribbon day today... thanks andy, for here, for you, ~Lily [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Lily ![]() Speaking of warmth; you do well at that yourself. Yes, I have written many of those poems and each one I tag with "Automatic Writing" but, would have no way of knowing which one you are referring to. In any case, feel free to start your own thread here. We built this room to further establish our sense for community and you are already a huge part of that. smiles, andy [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
