African smile can't compare
To any else grin
Cos' there's on these lips
More warmth than
The Sun itself
When it burns the dust of savannah,
It's larger than
The Black continent
Even from North to South,
It shines brighter
Than Kimberley diamonds
Because it's free
It's more precious
Than the stolen ivory
Because coming from misery

African smile has no equal
It makes each holder
A queen or a king
Who enlightens wide
Wider their halo is visible
It transfigures oblivion
Into consciousness
And even it's above all
Instinct, it's not animal,
From humanity cradle
It sends you a signal
You're welcome
And it's a greeting,
Though never forget
If put it under Northern skies
It would be pallid
Like fitting the tar greyness.
