Wear the hand-me-downs of yesterday
between a soft spot of down, feathered
in a quilt of memories
tucked and pointed; serene

wrapped in a layer that speaks names
with lips chapped from too much touch,
a smile is reluctant in the chill
but oh, the sight of watered blue remain
poignant, aching

wisps of whiteness fall down 'tween
the map of character that a full life gave her
as her hands, veined with reckless abandon,
turn the page...

telling tales of days
in the vibrancy of time-spinners,
weaving in threads of bone and flesh
walking paths from beginning to end
skeins of strands loomed into the great fabric

where none are torn
until their time is

when we see, what will we hear?

and when we will be....?
