It trickles down to the faceless crowd
withering slowly away with the fading years
yes agony, it trickles down the wrinkled cheeks
of old farmers perched in new developments
the paved cornfields in the shadows
crying out to the waving rye
bring the whiskey down til moonshines
bend the night to dawn
its all trickling down

It trickles down the tubed mercury
in the hollows of the night where vacant
they lay sleepless in lonely wooden boxes
this cradle to grave it trickles down
to the low hum of a bygone steam train
to the bowery it bellows to the shore
in the husk of morn' the B flat horns
of busses corrupt disheveled ears
as the day dusks it trickles down

It trickles down the lonely faces
of the homeless and needy children
like acid rain their tears stain the earth
this great denial that we live and breathe
this puke that we regurgitate like birds
these rivers that we pollute, it trickles down

It trickles down the slow destruction of ozone
to the melting glaciers and a rising sea
as the coasts move further into towns
as the polar bear is lost at sea
as the birds refuse to fly south
in this destiny of destruction
it trickles down

under large rocks
the world has changed

it trickles down
