President Eisenhower’s most important foreign policy was the establishment of NASA. Eisenhower created the Space Administration hoping to defeat the Soviets considering we were the ones defeated in the space race. Because NASA was started during the Cold War, the government was grateful for the strong efforts to take on the Soviets. NASA allowed the citizens of the US to remain hopeful to win, while making sure that they were confident in their own safety. NASA represented power, which was something that the United States was in great need of during this time.
