In my opinion, the most significant event in foreign policy to take place under the Eisenhower Administration was the creation of the Eisenhower Doctrine. This 1957 document was key because it aided other nations in withstanding communism. Under the Eisenhower Doctrine, many areas being threatened by the spread of communism were given aid financially and militarily. The Eisenhower Doctrine was successful because it strengthened the United States’ reputation amongst European powers, thus building strong future alliances.
