I absolutely agree with your point, Shailyn. Johnson might have had a good plan, as to having only a small amount of troops at a time to prevent massive losses, but his thinking had some areas that were not entirely considered. The fact that less troops cause the war to go on longer, and having a large amount of forces would end the war quicker appears to be very true in this sense. Your reasoning definitely portrays the uneffectiveness of Johnson's war strategy.
