I think that our involvement in Iraq was impacted both negatively and positively by Vietnam. The American people were vehemently opposed to the US involvement in Vietnam after the public broadcasting of live footage of battle. I think some Americans were wary of the consequences of getting involved in Iraq. They remembered the loss of life the US army suffered and feared the same would happen in Iraq. However the majority of people are still prideful and believe the US can defeat any opponent and neglect to study what happened in Vietnam. Vietnam was both a reminder to be wary but also a fuel to settle a “score” and provoked the US public.
