I think that Eisenhower's most successful foreign policy action was creating the Strategic Air Command. The Strategic Air Command (SAC) was created in order to make sure that the United States could protect themselves from Russian threat. SAC was in charge of America's bomber-based and ballistic missile-based strategic nuclear arsenal from 1946-92. Although it is still not around today, it still had kept our country safe. If we didn't have the SAC the threats from Russia would keep coming and they would think that the United States had no weapons. Having the SAC shows that we have nuclear weapons to defend ourselves from anything.
