Boy, 14yo, USA, tosillectomy, gynecomastia surgery, laparascopy at school hospital

I am male. It happened as early teen, 14. The procedure happened in North America, USA, in 2010 or later.

I had tonsillectomy or adenectomy. I had an exam or surgery in my chest. I had an exam or surgery in my stomach area. I had cystoscopy or other procedure through my urethra. I had surgery for a tonsilectomy and adenoidectimy, surgery for gynecomastia, a laprooscpy and a cystoscopy.

The procedure occured in the school hospital. I was starting at a boarding school and they said that they remove everyone's tonsils and andinods.

I had the gynecomastia surgery because I was concerned about taking my shirt off, and had a consultant with a plastic surgeon about it. They also said that they do an internal exam of the abdomen.

SYMPTOMS AFTER THE PROCEDURE

I had pain, irritition or other problems in my mouth. I had pain irritation or other problems in my urethra or bladder. My throat hurt afterwards and so did my chest belly and penis.

ANESTHESIA AND ARRANGEMENTS

I was given sedative medicines through my mouth I was given medication intravenously. They gave me gas through a mask. I was unconscious all the time. They gave me something to help me relax when I said it would be my first time in surgery.

To put me to sleep, they started an IV in my arm and also gave me a mask. They also gave me local anesthetic in my chest and belly button so I wouldn't be in a lot of pain when I woke up.

THE ORDEAL AS REMEMBERED

I came in on my appointed day from my dorm room. They told me on the day of the surgery that I would be having the Gynecomastia surgery, as at the time of my appointment for that I didn't have a confermed date for it.

I had a 12 lead EKG and ultrasound of my heart chest and abdomen prior to having the surgery.

It happened when I was 14 at my boarding school hospital. After the surgery I felt a lot more comfortable doing things like swimming and taking my shirt off.

I was asleep the whole time.

ARRANGEMENTS AFTER THE PROCEDURE

Just one IV for pain, and one for saline solution. No breathing tube, just a mask when I woke up. I had catheter when I woke up it was connected to a bag at the end of my bed. They left it in for about an hour or two after I was awake. Nothing in my anus. Heart monitor and blood pressure cuff and little red light thing. They just checked my heart beat and breathing, and if I was in any pain.

COMMENTS

Certain big boarding schools have hospital sections where they also perform surgeries.

They removed tonsils and adenoids of every kid, not for the good of the kids, but for research, for selling the removed tissue on the market, and for training of doctors. Possibly teh laparoscopy had the same purpose. Only very few kids benefit from tonsillectomy.

From the account it looks like the tonsil ordeal occured just after mpving to the school, and the rest of the ordeals happened at another surgical session.

The cystoscopy and laparoscopy probably had the purpose of looking for problems in the pelvic area that had a connection to the gynecomastia. But also these procedures probably also was for research, doctor education, and to take out tissue for selling on the market. Even the gynecomastia surgery had a second purpose of using the tissue taken out for research and commersial purposes.
