Boy, Texas, 10, 13yo Pelvic exam with cystosopy for bedwetting

I had cystoscopy - I am male. The exam took place in North America, Texas at 10, 13 years of age in years ear 2011, 2021, 2018. Cystoscopy occured in a hospital. Parents said something like: The doctor shall look at you down in your stomach. My parents broughy me.

PREPARATION

Had to stop eating several hours before the cystoscopy. Given laxatives at home before the exam. Got a hospital gown before going to bed. Given enema during preparations. Fell totally in sleep after the medication. Got a shot to calm down and make sleepy.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE EXAM

I do not know how the exam was done because put fully to sleep, and noone told afterwards. They also inspected with a scope some way up into the colon - sigmoidoscopy.

ARRANGEMENTS

Had to stay in bed more that a day after the exam.
Got medicines into urethra with a syringe after the exam.

DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UP

Diagnosis - low bladder capasity. Social or psychological councelling or a training program. The reason was problems with urination. For bedwetting It was humiliating or awful.

COMMENTS

Kids that have problems with bedwetting will often get a pelvic exam with cystoscopy and inspection of the lower digestive tract.

For a simple cystosopy and sigmoidosopy it is not necessary to stay in bed more than a day. It looks like they also made some changes in his urinary system and colon, most probably some surgical intrvention in his urethra or bladder.

It seems to me that these type of exams are steadily more used on kids that show some functional deviations or behavior deviations, and not only those related to the pelvic organs.

One reason is to look for anatomical issues that might cause the problem, which they seemed to have found in this case.

Anothr reason is that authorities nearly authomatically suspecpect somebody in the near family to abuse the kid or that the kid engages in unaproved sexual behavior when a kid shows these symptoms, and they look for evidence.

But this practice and way of thinking is very little talked about to the public.

It is somewhat uncertain what years this occured. Years 2011, 2018, 2021 and ages 10 and 13 are indicated. Possibly it occures fairly recently and possibly somebody knowing the boy answered the poll, and not the boy himself. But whatever might be the correct times, it does not change the conclusion.
