Boy, 13yo, North America, extensive inspections through all body openings

It happened when I was a 13 year old boy, in North America, in the period 2010 or later. My mom brought me.

The procedures happened in a hospital. A doctor scheduled me for this exam as part of a study.

First I had an ultrasound and cat scan. When I arrived at the hospital the day before the surgery they took me to a room to change into a hospital gown before i had the ultrasound and cat scan done.

They started an orthodontist IV in me after dinner on the night i stayed over and put in a second one before i was taken to the operating room

The next day I had something that a doctor called a surgical exam. It was a procedure where i was put to sleep in an operating room to have cameras put inside of me.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE EXAM

I had an exam or surgery in my stomach area. I had a procedure in my upper stomach with instruments through my mouth. I had cystoscopy or other procedure through my urethra I had an exam or procedure through my anus. They said that they removed my appendix.

No i was asleep the whole time.

SYMPTOMS AFTER THE ORDEAL

I had pain, irritation or other problems in my nose, in my mouth and in my respiratory tract or lungs. I had pain or irritation in my anus or rectum. I had pain irritation or gas in my colon or lower stomach. I had some pain in my belly when I woke up.

ABOUT THE ANESTHESIA AND PREPARATIONS

I was given sedative medicines through my mouth. I was given medication intravenously. They gave me gas through a mask. They put two iv lines in my arms and a mask on me

ARRANGEMENTS AFTER THE PROCEDYRE

Just a mask when I woke up. I had a catheter when I woke up but they took it out after i filled a urine bag twice Nothing in my anus Heart monitor and blood pressure and oxygen sensor thing. Just checking my heart and lungs and my tummy

COMMENTS

This is a extensive procedure that is used on kids and teens for which there is some type of concern that might originate from several internal organs or from social conditions. From my material it looks like it is used twice as often on boys as on girls. In some communities all boys go through this procedure around age 11-14 and in some all girls too.

The procedure is also used during scientific projects that do research on kids. From the testamonial it looks like the boy in this case was used in such a scientific program.

This procedure is not generally told about to the public and it will often come as a surprise both to parents and the kid. It is also often done under anesthesia at the same time as some other procedure and held secret.

Even when it is not held secret, the details are often hided by ullydecriptions, like in this case where it was called a surgical exam, with cameras to look into the body. In this cas the boy still got to know musch of what was done.

The ordeal begun with a cat scan which is an x-ray-imaging of sections of the body or the whole body where cross-section pictures are made by computarization. I guess that they concentrated upon his head in that procedure. He also got inspected by ultrasound imaging, most probably at all his joints, his chest, his abdomen. his genitals and his pelvic zones through a rectal probe. He does not describe it but this is my guess.

From the description it looks like they installed an orthodontic contraption on his teeth under anesthesia through IVs the first day.

The second day he got anesthesia through IV, then through a mask whereafter they paralyzed his mucles and breathing, intubated him and gave him anesthesia and artificial ventilation through the airtube. The symptoms afterwards tell that this was the full anesthesia he got.

They inspected him with endoscopes through his nose, through his mouth into his upper digestive system, through his anus into his lower digestive system, through his urethra into his bladder and up into each kidney and through a hole made in his abdomen into his abdominal cavity. Through that hole they also took out his apendix. He might not have been aware of that hole because it is often made in the navel, but the abdominal pain originated partly from this procedure.

They might also have inspected his respiratory system likewise but it is difficult to conclude since the symptoms in his airpipe are often due only to the general anesthesia.

During these procedures they also often adjust the urinary system and lower digestive system, usually by widening narrow passages. It does not look like they did much adjustments because after such adjustments boys usually will have tube also installed through the anus to take care of discharges from the digestive system and need more care afterwards.
