Boy, 9yo, exam with intimate focus to explore reason for fever

I am a male. I was a school-aged child, 9yo. The exam occured in Alabama, Year 1990 - 1999, In North America, at a Mobile AL Institution, County clinic, health centre.

I woke up with a fever on vacation, took me to the exam in a car. A doctor examined me with dad present.


OVERVIEW OF THE ORDEAL

They examined my head teeth or jaws. They examined my genitals. They examined my rectal zone. They inserted instruments into my rectal opening. They performed a full functional test of my breathing heart and blood circulation under workload. They made interrogations about my social relations and my daily life.


ANESTHESIA, ARRANGEMENTS, HOW THE ORDEAL BEGAN

Took my temp rectally. Gave me medicine to make me relax, got painkilling and sedative shots, then check head and throat and chest. I was totally naked.


EXAMINATION OF THE URINARY SYSTEM AND GENITALS

They used a catheter to collect urine They examined my prostate with an ultrasound sond into my anus. They palpated my prostate with a finger into my rectum.


RECTAL EXAM

They spread my cheeks and examined extarnally my rectal zone. They examined my rectum with an inserted finger. They inserted a speculum into my anus to examine it internally. They examined my rectum and terminal colon with a flexibal scope. They examined my rectum with an ultrasound sond.


REASON AND OBSERVATIONS

What do you think was the reason for this exam? not sure What is your opinion about this experience? it was really weird. I was called in for quite another thing but they also examined my rectal zone.


FOLLOW-UP

Doctor told my dad to bring be back next day for check up New exams as follow up, weekly checkups for a while mostly checking my butt.


COMMENTS

It looks like there were not any obvious reason seen for the fever and that the doctor did not find the reason. But he seems to have expected an urinary tract infection or some digestive unflammation, which explains the intimate focus in the first exam, and folloing checkups with a pelvic focus.
