] Date Posted: 08:05:15 08/13/10 Fri Times have really changed since my childhood. Miss Universe time was usually held in May, or June, which signified the ending of a school year. Today, the pageant is held in August,in which kids of today go back to school. It doesn't really matter when the pageant is held, because The Miss Universe Pageant is a Celebration! It is the cele- bration of Nations coming together, beauty, and a chance to see someone's life change for the better. As the reigning titleholder does her farewell, it is a thrill to see how she has matured, and expresses her gratitude with a new prospective on life. I'm not too thrilled about today's SUPERMODEL image, but I realize that times have changed, and the pageant has to move along with the times; however, tradition is precious. There should be at least one, or two things preserved in the name of tradition. The pageant is over 50 yrs. old now, and should show the youth of today what class, and elegance is all about.
