Welcome to the new voy forum for Wish upon a Hero members to be able to make friends and discuss things to help one another. We can all help change the world one wish at a time and we can grant larger wishes if we UNITE. We can make friends that we would otherwise not get the opportunity and we can vent when we just need someone to talk to. We can discuss strategies to accomplish a particular group of wishes (ie shool needs) or a single wish at a time. We can do raffles and auctions through WUAH I believe to raise funds for these wishes even. I just thought it was about time people could have a place to just chit chat other than the comment section on wishes. Enjoy and Have Fun!

Hi, I tried to check back on a wish I made ( My husband needs Glucerna and/or any Low carb shake mixes- doctor recommended) We live on SSI and that stuff is really expensive. I wanted to see if anyone at least commented yet, but the site won't open. Is the site down?

Are you sure you didnt get kicked off because you scammed out another non-profit organization? All you have to do is google your name and all the news articles on what you did show up. Im glad WUAH is looking out for people and not lettingyou on the site. Great job WUAH!

False soliciting for military gets woman court supervision

DECATUR - A woman who solicited cash to purchase candy and DVDs to send to military personnel overseas but never sent the items has pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor in Macon County Circuit Court. Susan Renee Stuck, 39, pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal damage to property under an agreement with the state�s attorney�s office. She had been charged with one felony count of theft of property having a value in excess of $300. Associate Judge Scott Diamond accepted the plea and placed Stuck under court supervision for six months. Stuck founded Helping Heroes, an organization that she represented was aiding armed forces personnel. She reached an agreement with Hollywood Video whereby its employees would ask customers if they cared to contribute to a fund to purchase candy and DVDs to be sent to military personnel overseas. Funds were solicited at the chain�s Decatur and Springfield stores. Assistant State�s Attorney Duane Deters said he settled on the misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property in negotiations with defense attorney Karen Root because of the contention that some of the food items Stuck has solicited were not any good because she had them so long. Police said several people contacted them with concerns about the legitimacy of her Helping Heroes operation. When detectives went to her northside apartment, she readily allowed them inside. The officers found dozens of boxes of items stacked in her living room, items solicited for the troops in Iraq but never shipped. Despite public statements about items she had shipped overseas,

Wish Upon a Hero isn't all it's cracked up to be. Let me explain.

On Oct 14, 2008 my account was closed with NO warning or anything from admin or the owner of the site. I just received an email stating that my account was closed due to someone complaining about comments I left in wishes. The last I knew freedom of speech was a right and something that I was allowed to express. Let me state that the comments I made were not rude, they were just questions to the wisher about the use of monies received and she didn't use the money in the manner it was to be used for.

I have repeatedly asked both admin and Dave (founder) to forward me these complaints but I have received NOTHING from them...they are sitting there hiding behind their computers and not acting like admin and providing proper documentation.

In the past when this type of "infraction" would take place the member would be restricted from the site for a week or two...not with me...I just had my account closed.

Now, since I joined the site last year I have granted a number of wishes and have worked as a Wish Ambassador to get other wishes granted by businesses. I'm not a bad person.

Oh yes, did I mention that they also closed my daughters account too? They don't think she exists. She filled out the information for verification and has been a verified member for almost a year and NOW they question it...what is up with that?

There are a few wishes that currently have rude comments that are just as critical as what I left but are those members having their accounts closed? I doubt it. It's all about who you know and what clique you are in with. I wasn't in any of the "cliques". I did my work on my own and didn't participate in the chat room so I'm an outsider so I am the first to go. Sad, but oh so true.

Not to mention there are members that repeatedly cause drama in their forums and are still members. They say they don't want any drama on the site yet they keep the ones that cause it on a regular basis. Does this make sense? I sure don't think so

But I don't think I can make a wish to tell others so I have to depend on the forum which not to many use yet and word of mouth from everyone.
I also want to share that at toys r us this morning I found clothes from 0-6 months all the way up to size 4T on a awesome sale . 3 top sets for 2.50 and 2 pairs of matching bottom sets for 2.50 so technically 3 brand new outfits for only 5.00! That would sure help with granting summer clothes wishes maybe you guys could check your local toys r us also. I don't have much money right now or I would buy them all LOL

It has helped so many people and given us the avenue to give back and make new friends through heros. What a good idea giving us a message board to use to make friends too.
I hope the word on this board gets out to the other members as quickly as possible since I know so many could use a place to discuss their worries.
