WOW! I'm blown away by all these messages. There was a sense of unfairness throughout the whole evening of the pageant but never in a million years would I expect to hear some of these revelations. I must have been in my own world because I was one of the rare few that did not have a negative one on one encounter with Diane Yoo, though this does not blind me from sensing her "holier than thou" attitude during the few rehearsals she attended and pageant related functions we were invited to.

Diane Yoo is truly like no one I've ever met before... I'm still in disbelief that she is what a panel of so called intelligent judges would select as "the epitome of beauty, talent, intelligence, and character" as stated Virgelia's opening remarks in the official magazine.

Diane carries herself as though she is already a queen and has it in the bag. Her attitude is very obnoxious and is absolutely sickening. I know that some may say that her confidence and high self esteem is something to strive for but there is a point to where that confidence and self esteem makes a person really ugly on the inside. We all observed that from the beginning of this experience and was proven true on the night of the pageant when Diane's true self was revealed.

I can breakdown for you each instance when Diane was not behaving in a queenly manner, but most has already been written and you can just imagine her behavior backstage especially when she had her entourage to back her up. It was like she was a Mafia boss and no one was to be in her way or else they would have their heads chewed off. During the pageant, every time another person or delegate would enter into my shared dressing room there would be a comment from them releasing frustration of "Oh my God, Korea this..." or "Oh my God, Korea that..." Now I've gotten to know a lot of these girls and have made friends with a lot of them, there is no way that these genuinely sweet girls I've grown to call friends would have any reason to lie about Diane's unprofessionalism, mean-spirited behaviors, or hideous moral character. Diane's cocky attitude was clear to every audience member, backstage worker, delegate and for a matter of fact to anyone that was in the Alex Theatre that pageant evening.

So I ask, is this really the kind of person we want to represent the Asian community and be the ambassador of culture and goodwill? Is this the kind of role model we want our little girls to look up to? Even my 8 year old niece was turned off by Diane's presence. If an 8 year old child can sense someone's negative energy, can there be some truth to these postings? This was suppose to be a pageant to celebrate diversity in culture, form friendships, and create personal growth (as stated in the advertisements) but when all said and done, it was all about the person who was the highest bidder for the crown. And still as the saying goes "money makes the world go round." It saddens me to see that what I thought could not possibly ever taint such a grand event in it's 20 anniversary, did. Does this mean that 19 other previous queens bought off there crowns too? I wonder? I, along with many other young women in this pageant, and not to mention their dedicated parents, worked very hard towards striving to earn that crown. I had no idea that this is what would be the final outcome. Though this does not change my mind about other pageants, and I'm certain there are still some out there that are on a more fair level. I just happened to have had my first pageant experience a to be a learning experience that I will definitely grow from. As they say " what doesn't kill you, just makes you stronger." I am definitely stronger now and still amazed at what life continues to teach me.
