To the point in such a way as not to be offensive of a traditional measure of control or punishment within an organization family or religious group. My family has heavy Amish Mennonite background as far back as founding religious leaders (Oberholtzer). But why my family, especially my brothers, would want to dabble in shunning when they are not of the religious faith or very religious at all. But I have been chosen the scapegoat of the family to bear others sins (in the proverbial since). It is abusive and damaging in many ways. It gives unknowing others the wrong opinion of the one being shunned. In my case this shunning attitude from family has caused problems in the youth of my daughter. I was also cut off from paid for ministry tapes weekly, the publications or even reply to my correspondences. That was a type of shunning after 12 years in their ministry by media correspondence. There was never an explanation of why but I will never forget the very last sermon tape the chose to send me was such that the sermon could have driven an unawares victim of the speaker into suicide because of the lack of weekly communication with the ministry in keeping the Sabbath. The tape went so far as to predict falling away into gross sin and error once the victim(s) lacked communication with the ministry. Well, that was BAD news but not for me as I had prior to AOY studied the matter of cults and cult religious groups and recognizing tactics. Before that last tape I had received from the AOY there was some serious thoughts on my part to leave the ministry and seek fellowship with other messianic type groups. Fortunately over the years the lousy groups are gone and the majority now are more trustworthy. Not all but enough to chose from. I am writing to ask permission, excluding your personal name, to use your post of Sunning to send to relatives or post on social media. AOY shunning is just their doing your life a favor for you and for me to move forward with Yahweh's guidance to more true and loving ministries which are not run by egotistical dictators who do not necessarily bear the full truth of the Scriptures. I learned more from one book and a Bible than from 12 years in the AOY. Look on eBay and purchase a copy of Greenberg's book The Jewish Way. I studied it cover to cover over and over until it fell apart and I bought another copy. Keep in mind my foundation in The Lord is Yashua crucified and risen to be seated with Yahweh Elohim Olam. Please reply, and especially more helpful websites, groups, books, etc. To keep us on the narrow path that some heartless persons in AOY tried to push us off of thinking to condemn our souls to hell.
