Subject: Interesting question. I've never won (I've done +/- 3 pageants), but always placed. At the last pageant, I paid more attention to where I was assigned to walk and thought that perhaps the perception of my beauty could be affected by how attractive the girls on either side of me were/how well they performed. For instance, I'm of average height, and I had to perform the opening number directly next to a 6 ft tall experienced model, who ended up winning (she totally deserved it, though). Interview is important, but we're talking about walking, so I won't address that further. It seems logical to think that at least who you're standing next to can affect judges' perception of you.
