I think a lot of pageants are having to move to the $15 ticket. Pageants simply need the money in their coffers since sponsorships are down in this economy. Great pageant. I'm sure it was close. Lisa Mace can really tap! Wow. Puleo and McLean wear awesome in swimsuit. Loved Mace and McLean in EG. Damone made me laugh in talent. Smith is coming along and looked like she enjoyed herself. Visiting queens were Core, Hunt, Locklear and Carolyn (Miss Moore County). In OT visiting were Honeycut, Scott, and Miss MC OT. There may have been more. Loved the way each contestant was mentoring a Carolina Princess. It they won then their CP goes to state with them. Awesome, huh? No name 04:51:00 03/22/09 Sun

This committee put on a great pageant. I don't agree with the results, but I do believe the committee will help the winner. I have to say Emmy McLean sang better than I have ever heard her. This definitely was a great pageant. There wasn't a lot of down time and the contestants were great. Mace definitely is an awesome tapper; however, IMHO she was not the best all around choice. I just don't feel like she has what it takes to be a Miss NC. My personal opinion is that Puleo or McLean would have been a better pick. I think they have more of what it takes to actually win Miss NC and do well in the Miss America Pageant next year. But... that's why we have judges. Their decision is final and although I don't agree with it; it is what it is. I do hope McLean and Puleo will find and enter an open pageant so they will have another chance to get to Raleigh though. I agree with the winner,however I think Laura should have been 1st runner up. The interview room must have made all the difference in placement. Emmy just blended into the group, she did look good in swimsuit. It should have been a solid color, too busy for her height. Lisa and Laura just had a fire in their eyes that could clearly see. I agree. I had it scored McLean, Puleo and then Mace. I was basing my scoring on ALL categories, not just talent. Mace definitely can tap, but she was third in scoring in OSQ and lower in swimsuit. I think it was between Lisa, Laura and Emmy and ws probably very close. Lisa won talent hands down so that's where she picked up the extra points. And you're right.... she more than likely would not have been the winner if the final ballot had been used. I know everyone has opinions and everyone is entitled to them, but I can't believe you didn't like that song. It's fine that you didn't, please understand me - I'm not criticizing you for that. It's just the one thing I heard everyone talking about after the pageant was over. That it was a perfect song choice, that it was the best she had ever performed, etc. There were people around us (and I wasn't there to support anyone in particular) that thought she might even win the talent award. I did like Emmy's song and thought she sang it well; however, I think that the song she sang several years ago showed her range much, much better. I'm not sure that a country song is the way to go in a pageant since not everyone enjoys country. But again, Emmy did a great job with it. I am sure the judging must have been extremely close. I think if Emmy McLean had worn her hair down, instead of pulled back the entire night, she would have nailed the winning spot. Puleo was striking and also did a great job with her dance. The song Emmy sang at GS is not a country song. It is a Broadway song from Showboat. However, I think it was her best performance to date, and I had her to win with Puleo and then Mace. But...I wasn't a judge. -- No name, 23:38:25 03/23/09 Mon
