Lately it seems that the number of people wanting to sit the TCRG or ADCRG examinations seems to far exceed the positions being made available. There are probably financial realities influencing these decisions, but it can feel quite discouraging.
Many people are genuinely trying to stay involved in Irish dancing, continue learning, and contribute positively to the organisation and the next generation. When opportunities become so limited, it does make you question whether ongoing involvement is truly being encouraged or supported.
What also makes it difficult is the feeling that those who simply want to work hard, progress, and contribute positively are now experiencing reduced opportunities because of the well-publicised cheating scandals, disputes and court proceedings of recent years which have clearly had major financial consequences for the organisation. Many members had no involvement in those events, yet it appears as though the impact is now being carried by those trying to continue supporting Irish dancing in a genuine and positive way.

Anon pls because Iâ€™m genuinely at a loss here.

My teacher keeps telling me to â€œgo back to basicsâ€ before next season but Iâ€™m Open Champ (since likeâ€¦ recently but still) and I already invested in a Â£4k fully stoned dress so Iâ€™m just confused what more there is to base??

She also keeps saying â€œpoint moreâ€ but my toes are literally at full extension. Like I tested it in hard shoes and nearly went over so I feel like scientifically that means Iâ€™ve reached max point capacity.

Then she said I need â€œstaminaâ€ which I donâ€™t fully get because I know all my steps?? Once you know the steps isnâ€™t the job kind of done? I donâ€™t see how being more tired mid-dance is going to improve my placing unless judges are marking on suffering now.

Main issue though: she wonâ€™t let me upgrade to a bigger wig. I want one of those massive curly ones because logically more volume = more spin speed (aerodynamics??) but she said â€œthatâ€™s not how physics worksâ€ which felt unnecessarily negative.

At this point Iâ€™m wondering if Iâ€™ve just outgrown the corrections or if this is normal?? Has anyone else been held back like this?? x

Recently returned to competing after a long hiatus and the blonde/white hairsprays I used to use seem to have been discontinued. I think they were Jerome Russell BBlonde or something? I tried the punky color ones first and they just made my hair look grey. I then tried a mix of original and blonde batiste dry shampoos, which worked better, but they still don’t get my hair as light as I’d like. Can anyone point me to a combo of sprays that actually work? Many thanks in advance :)

- Claddagh follow the panel. Scoil Rince Ceim Oir is listed and support all SE feises, must make up a fair percentage to the entries.
