• The thing that worries me about panels like this where husband, wives, friends etc. & also included are ones who do workshops for the others all judging, plus a few side kicks threw in for good measure, you will find that if they are on the same panel, they work together, Since the day system is no more. Then of course you will have those who pick out and set the schedule for the judges who will be on what panel aswell. It's a vicious circle. Thank god I am only there for 2 days. The All Ireland results will reflect on the World results, The dancers of those judging the world will both take titles and do extremely well at the All Ireland & vice versa. I could write the book! • I have noticed that aswell. The AI and the Wordl panel seem to work in cahoots with each other. The kids from Wrold judges will take titles and do well at AI and then in turn the AI judges kids will do well at world. This seems to be the pattern all right for the last 2 years definitely. They must have some sort of an agreement - I mean majot schoold opting our of major comps - come on please there has to be some reward a thte end of it, and of course theymust gather up a few side kicks on the way to add strenght to their results! The side kicks get a few regionals qualifiers and a titlle of they are lucky, but they certainly will be on panel at Ai or World. You are so right -practice doesnt reallyc ount anymore it denpends who is at the table. They dont hide it anymore either - they are so blantant, well, would you want titles like that - I certainly would not! Shame on the lot of you. • What does it matter if it is borrowed? When I was dancing we all borrowed dresses and sometimes danced in the class costume for the World. It wasn't such a huge thing then and to be honest we were all better off for it. Less pressure for the dancers and parents. Costume prices are crazy. I often wonder in years to come, where will all discarded out of "season" gavins etc be?
