If you win an overall tittle then you need to not let them compete in other prelims to give others a chance at a big tittle. I also like the idea of there being some semi glitz involved. My daughter loves to get all dolled up once in a while. Make sure every child gets a trophy of some sort. I like medals for optionals instead of sashes. I think a system should have a standard crown for prelims. You can make special crowns for fun events. I think a standard crown for a system makes queens more recognizable as a group. Date Posted: 14:58:11 03/01/09 Sun I can understand a child not being eligible for more than one preliminary overall. But I don't agree that they shouldn't be able to compete at all. For those of us that do not want to do an semi glitz or glitz pageant that would really hinder our children. They really would have no other time to practice or increase their confidence on stage prior to a State compitition. Yes the fun pageants are great also but there has only been 2 of those. My daughter Madison was in her first pageant in Jacksonville and was crowned Grand Overall 9 and under(yes she won it twice). If she had not been allowed to compete again she would basically be at ground zero at State. But say another child competes in every pageant and wins or doesn't win. But she has the experience and poise on stage that my daughter would not. I am not trying to be defensive or come across harsh. I will say again that once you win a specific title overall, age group, ect then maybe you shouldn't be eligible for that specific title again. But I don't think any child should be excluded completley. Just a thought! ;) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 16:12:23 03/01/09 Sun I understand where your coming from.. But on that same token when your daughter won her first pageant she must have had the poise and cofidence that it took to win and overall title from jump! Which is great! But understand that is usually how pageants are.. even some of them stop you from doing more even if winning your age division until state! I personally don't like that but that's neither here or there! But i do believe that if you win the grand overall then your DD has done all that she can until state or like i said before the fun pageants! If Lori decides to make it like that then i think for those of you like Madison should have more for fun pageants that way you still have the chance to be on the stage before state but not in an actual prelim.
