The pageant is not related to Miss Slovenia contest. On Friday, 10th April 2009, the expert jury selected the 16 girls who will be the 9th May 2009 Miss Universe Slovenia 2009. Anamarija Avbelj, Miss Universe Slovenia 2008, will crown her successor at the end of this event. The 2009 beauty queen Miss Universe Slovenia will represent her country in Miss Universe 2009 beauty contest at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009.
