She rolled her eyes at him, trying to hide a smile at his expense. She'd seriously underestimated how drunk he was. But she hadn't said a word as poured his guilt out to her, had only listened quietly. She sensed he was getting something off his chest and she allowed him to do so. Her eyes closed and she struggled with what she should say to him. "I only just met you, but I don't think that you are a bad person. I don't believe in bad people. There are just people, and some of them do things that hurt others, 'bad' things, but I don't buy the whole good versus evil dichotomy that people seem to operate by. I--I think there is good in everyone, and I try to see it." Her voice was very soft, just above a whisper, and her gaze unfocused. She wasn't really talking to or about him at this point. Like Ezra, she was lost in her own thoughts. But as suddenly as she'd drifted into her reverie she was startled back to the present by his attempt to stand. "No...I'll get you up," she avowed, straightening up from her reclined position and moving to stand by his feet. "Levez-vous, Ezra," she commanded, reaching down to grasp his hands and pull, using her own weight as balance to help him stand. He was a little taller than her and almost threw her off balance, but she slung an arm around his waist and guided--pushed--him down the street. She'd almost forgotten her bag in the process but managed to snag it on the way. "The town is about a four or five hour drive from here, and no one's heard of it. It's really small. Isolated. The same people have lived there forever, it seems. It's practically incestuous. So what do you take photos of?" she asked him, rapidly changing the subject. It's not like he would remember anything she said to him, she reasoned.
