She rocked slightly with the playful bump to her shoulder, and she stifled a small chuckle. The exchanges between them were an immense form source of amusement and entertainment for her, despite his being a loose cannon, as far as the pack was concerned. She doubted she’d ever be able to control him, the best she could hope for, with him, was to gain his affection and loyalty, and have him serve from that basis. But somehow, he didn’t strike her as that type. At his comment at being normal, she snorted and rolled her eyes. “You’re very nature pretty much ensures you will never be normal.” It was a mixed statement, part compliment, part insult. But the very same was true of herself as well. She would never be normal… her nature was to be above the average, and far from normal. The light changed, and the group that had surrounded them started forward, carrying them both along with the crowd. She spoke as they crossed the street, using the traffic and pedestrian noise to mask her words. “If I told you all I knew, you’d have an advantage over me…. And somehow, I think that would be an unwise move on my part.” Her tone was teasing, though the words were honest and blunt. And then he was touching on her dominance, and an outright laugh erupted from her chest. She stepped up onto the side walk again, and started down the street, talking as if she knew he’d stick with her. “Really? Interesting that you say that.” She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, and smirked. Oh.. how close he was to figuring it out. She wondered idly how long it would take him to put two and two together. |
