Subject: New rule proposing voting rule proposal vote.

Can we take a vote on having a set window during the off-season to consider any and all new rule proposals or rule tweaks?

Maybe say from straight after our Grand Final till the start of our SL draft (roughly Oct/Nov)

That way we all enter the draft knowing the rules are set for the season ahead.

If a coach has an idea on a new rule or a rule change during a season, they hold onto it until the off-season period to discuss.

I think all ideas deserve airplay and discussion, but I also think having a set period to consider these could be of benefit to the league.

I am sure we all get frustrated at the AFL consistently changing the rules in season, and I personally would prefer to leave that side of things to the off-season

It also means we all know that any new rule implemented has least one full season in action before we can judge its worthiness.

It also means in-season we concentrate on the on-field side of things, and use our energy in that way

It also means we have something worthwhile to do in the off-season, giving that period added purpose.

January is still "tools down" as suggested in an earlier post by Brendan.

If Mods feel this is something to vote on, we can take a vote here and also email all the coaches to get their feedback.
