Subject: Vote 2: Team Balance

Option A. Team balance to remain as is:
"4.0 All teams must participate in the balance template. All positions within the template must be filled with each teams listed players.
4.1 All sections in the template are not restrictive in number. However, there are restrictions as to where you can play players within these positions.
4.2 These Sections within the template are: Rucks, Midfielders, Key Forwards, Forwards 2, Mid/Forwards, Key Defenders, Defenders 2, Mid/Defenders, Swing
"4.3 Player Positions
DEF2: Flanks/Pockets Backline
KPD: KPB/Back Pockets
Mid/Def: Wings/Centre/Back Flanks
Mid: Wings/Centre/Rov/RR
Ruck: Ruck/FP
FWD2: Flanks/Pockets Fwd line
KPF: KPF/Pockets Fwd Line
Mid/Fwd: Wings/Centre/Fwd Flanks
Swing: KPB/KPF"
All players are eligible for up to 2xpositions listed above
4.4 Once a teams balance sheet is set for the season, it can't be altered without request. Requests will be considered on an individual basis. The change will be allowed if in the AFL, the position is probable for that particular player or the player has demonstrated playing that position in at least 3 consecutive weeks.
4.5 There will be no objections throughout the year. Objections can be made on a request, but once a player has been set in a position, the position for that player can not be questioned.
4.6 Penalty of 50 points if it is the coaches selection that fails to comply. This will be applied to the player(s) named out of position and is regardless of what they score (e.g. if they are not in scoring 18 there is potentially no penalty)
4.7 Although there is no number restrictions to these sections, Mods can suggest that more could be done in a particular area to avoid penalties.
4.8 The Master Data Tab will be used for Team balance in case of any disputes
4.9* KPP will be reviewed every off season and allocated by mods (a time period will be allocated for queries/challenges on these prior to the season)
4.10* Rucks to be allocated based on a H/O avg of >3 avg over per match 2 years. Where players have not played over 10 games in the 2 year period this will be based on prior matches or reserves stats/positioning

*4.9 and 4.10 added to reflect current set up

Option B.
Team Balance to allow more flexibility
Team balance to allow more flexibility when coaches are facing hardship.

- players can be used out of position if all players in coaches squad who qualify for the position are not AFL selected (injured, suspended or not selected)
In this case no penalty applies

- In case players are available but still named out of position penalty applies as per current rule.
