Warriors prefer option 1, but with ONE scenario where no penalty applies and the SL emergency list can be used as per normal.

The side can still fulfill ALL positional requirements according to the Offical Balance Sheet that I assume is locked. This can be down either through A) a re-shuffle (a Ruck goes OUT, a BP legitimately moves into the Ruck, a BP comes off the bench and the 1st Emergency moves to the bench etc) OR B) the 1st Emergency can legitimately take the empty spot like for like.

An example of A could be Nankervis is named as an Emergency for the Tiges but Warriors name him in the Ruck. Nank as expected doesn't play, so Warriors move BP McEvoy into the Ruck and Bailey Williams off my bench to the BP, and Aaron Hall comes in as 1st Emergency into my interchange. No penalty, though Warriors could have just reshuffled the line up and named Nank on the Interchange to start with, and saved the tension.

Example of B is that Warriors have Gryan Miers named on an extended bench for the Catsfor the Sunday games and they put him on a HFF. Miers surprisingly doesn't make the final 22, and Warriors are either too lazy to change it or hope he is a late in. Miers as expected doesn't play, but my 1st Emergency in Aaron Hall can just come into a HFF like for like. No penalty and bad team selection Geelong!

Does that make more sense?
