He had had centuries upon centuries to mold himself into a heartless, cold killer. He was a force to be reckoned with and her smug smile lit the gasoline of his soul ablaze. He could tell that she thought herself behaved for allowing him to pin her. But he wasn't even harnessing a quarter of his strength. His body went up in flames and his control was turning to embers wafted in the orange glare of air from the fire. He pulled his sculpted lips away and glared deep into her eyes. His were clouding over with the dust of burn rubble. He didn't like coy. It had never suited women. His fangs were extended and he thought only momentarily about the consequences killing her would evoke. But she was in his coven and she had, in doing so, gained his unwavering protection. He moved his lips back to hers and sealed his eyes off from the damages of the fire. His kiss had deepened and he was hot with lust. His tongue snaked past hers and rolled. Then he pulled away and repositioned himself against the pillows. All signs of fire had been quenched. "I taste other men." It was true. He could tell that many men were currently fighting over her and he did not want to sort through the demolished structure for salvageable items.
