Well, I made it at last...:-) good to see so many of you here already. Pico - your efforts to keep the message board running in times of crisis are Herculean as always - much respect to you sir & I'm looking forward to your next creation immensely >;-)

Meantime, life must go on & as it's the eve of the new season (!!!!) thought I would post these of the man of the moment Rio Ferdinand. I could go on at some length about the obscene amount of money that has changed hands to "persuade" young Rio to move across the Pennines, and how it illustrates all that is wrong & rotten with the game we love...

I could do that, or I could just comment on the way those socks emphasise his shapely, finely muscled legs...

I would call them stockings! One is reminded of 'Twelfth Night' and Malvolio...alright, those were yellow but.....

Great to see you back, Scarymon. I agree with you - we all owe a continuing debt of immense gratitude to Pico for his dedication in allowing us to continue to discuss our favourite subjects!

But I must go with Fowlerfan on Rio's legwear. I won't risk a thick ear by suggesting they're not socks, but erm a bit long aren't they, Mr Ferdinand, sir!! (dodges out of the way as Rio's brow furrows like a cloud across the sky...)
