Job Description:Requisition #: 31835BR Location: Prudhoe Bay Employment Type: Full Time Degree Required: High School or GED Certification Required: Alaska Painter Certification Card Description: Each day you will prepare surfaces, wash and treat surfaces, apply primers or sealers, fill cracks, holes, and joints, and perform abrasive blasting. You should be a self motivated, detail oriented professional with two years experience as industrial or commercial painter, confined spaces entry trained and petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience. Our Painter: • Prepare surfaces: wash and treat surfaces; apply primers or sealers; fill cracks, holes, and joints; perform abrasive blasting. • Protect surfaces: apply masking materials. • Apply paint, coating, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, and/or other structures. • Calculate amounts of required materials based on surface measurements and/or work orders. • Assist with building of scaffolding to work above ground level. • Perform manual labor such as clean up, sandblast pot tending, shoveling sand and cleaning paint equipment and using various solvents and thinners Additional Painter Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the industrial or commercial painting, construction or repair. • Knowledge of paints, preparation, special coatings and scaffold erection. • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. • Ability to properly use and care for the tools and equipment commonly used on an industrial project. • Knowledge of confined space identification and hazard assessments. • Familiar with the application of Fusion Bonded Epoxy, (FBE) Physical Demand/Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to: • Have the ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear • Lift 60 lbs from floor to knuckles (e.g., Bucket of coating) • Lift 50 lbs for floor to waist (e.g., 3” hose) • Lift 10 lbs from floor to shoulders (e.g. Air breath line) • Carry 35 - 60 lbs for 20 feet ( e.g., 2-person carry of channel, buckets of thinner and coating) • Carry tool bag (35 lbs) up and down stairs • Climb up and down vertical ladder, 15 rungs) • Climb stairs m 15 steps per flight x 7 flights Basic Qualifications: • Two (2) years experience as industrial or commercial painter required. • High school diplioma or equivalent (GED) • Valid Alaska painter Certification Card
