 Karen it's really quite simple if you have a bit of artistic flare and the right equipment and kit. The internet will give you a very good idea as to the gauge of the needles to be used.
You can purchase a tattooist machine on eBay. I saw one like mine for $69.99 Australian dollars. I couldn't wait so I bought one the very same from a tattoo parlour yesterday morning. I paid $110 so there was a considerable profit and mark up on his price but the information I got from him was invaluable so it was money well spent. Nat is giving me half of everything I spent. I told her not to worry because she and her partner are keeping Chloe without my support, buying her cigarettes, keeping her in H and buying alcohol for the family but she insists she wants to pay half
