But before I get into this, this morning I just read the real nonsensical post by that Daniel fellow so I'll grab my cigarettes from my handbag. His "conversation" is too limited for my liking. Adults cannot smoke in the car here either. There have been smoke-free zones set in place since 2000 when I was 15 and I was one together with a number of my girlfriends from school who smoked to and from it in uniform and we were forever looking behind us to ensure a teacher was not in sight. It was not comfortable all. It was probably in the 1990's that senior school kids,17 and 18 were permitted to smoke in the same school I attended as long as we had written permission from their parents to smoke. The Greens Party here are joke, they drive petrol guzzling 4-wheel vehicles emitting pollution into the air - Yet they lobbied in parliament until they got their way with banned smoking in most public areas - total treachery in my view. Steve, It's the same here, adults cannot smoke in the car with children, there are smoke-free zones almost everywhere we go except as one person wrote we can still smoke on grassed areas of beaches and at its picnic tables but not on the sand proper. The outdoor eateries like pubs, bars and some cafes with outdoor seating are a good escape in which to smoke We can thank the the liquor licencing board for that, it is a powerful body. We have it to thank for designated smoking areas. When we pack up car, caravan and kids for a holiday, it turns a 3 hours trip into 4 to cater for cigarette, drinks and snack breaks. You know what kids are like with their "when will will get there mum?" questioning. It drives my husband insane. It reminds me of the betting advertisements that come TV before football game. Once the public were able to gamble on the winner of a game, then in addition they were able to bet on the margin of points by the winner, now in addition to that they are able to bet on the first try scorer. Of course they they then say with a smile or a grimace, "bet responsibly." I've just convinced myself, they won't ban smoking, far too much tax, as it is with alcohol, gambling, races and sport.
