Hi Steve

He was 5 last October 9 but Chelsea started him smoking at the beginning of the Labor Day long weekend on Friday night September 29, so just over a week before his 5th birthday.

I don't know what our immediate neighbours' relationship is with surrounding families and their friends however they're not saying too much about my children and their smoking, although they were shocked to say the least when thy first saw them.

Yes kids giving their cigarettes to their friend is a real concern I have with mine too, they're expensive enough. I buy cigarettes for our family every Friday night before I come home from work.

Steve, Chelsea is using Dax in an effort for her to smoke more and I am certain I mentioned that in previous posts. I don't mind it too much with her, she's an asset to have around the place. She's taught Dax to tell the time on the old conventional clock rather than the digital type, taught him to tie his shoe laces and she expects him to polish his shoes. Talk about shoes, I had to buy new school uniforms for the kids to sstart their new school, from shoes to girls' hats. School blazers were most expensive at $189 each. The girls have summer and winter tunics and the boys have shorts in summer and long slacks for the winter. I had to buy 3 pairs for each of them. All up I spent almost $3,000. I guess the term "free educatioon" has long gone. Then if you have kids, it's a duty to feed, clothe and educate them. And we know from experience when we take them out they want a new item of clothing, especially my girls. Even eating out is becoming more exponive although we go out as a family every Saturday night for dinner.

The kids miss their friends from our old neighbourhood, smokers so I arrange for a couple at a time to come to our place for the weekend, that means we have to pay for exttra couple of meals when we go out. I pick them up on Friday nights and drop them off on Sunday afternoons.

I just hope one day they'll appreciate what we do and have done for them.
