I competed at Miss Illinois United States. My entry fee was $300.00 and we paid for our opening number dresses which were $125. The other expenses were optional. Derrick didn't require you to get hair & makeup, photogtaphy or video. Coaching was optional and I received a $500 gift certificate towards my gown from Hannah's. He even bought lunch and dinner for all of us during pageant weekend. So what pageant are you referring to? -- ILLINOIS Pageants Board

Who said anything about Derrick collecting for hotels? Re-read the post. It states Derrick Lee Miss Illinois United States director paid for nothing. He bummed a ride to nationals and didn't pay his fair share of the ride, he bummed meals from people throughout the week, and slept on the floor of his contestants rooms. I was a contestant and I watched this man suck up to the parents of teens and younger in DC to get food Starbucks to sleep in their hotel room lunch and dinner.
