In reply to: Anyone any advice? I’ve no one really to turn to and my child just loves to dance. 😭 's message, "My child is being bullied in her dance class. Going on a while now. Spoke to the teachers. Still not resolved." on Wed, Mar 19 2025, 20:43:00

She was constantly left out mocked, singled out, people refusing to pair up with her for two hands - started to cry going to class. I thought she wanted to quit.

But no - teachers laughed it off- even described it to other parents as "she left because she THOUGHT she was being bullied "- word got back! horrified at their stance and everyone who stayed knowing. Yes. Everyone who stayed knowing. She's thriving in a lovely kind warm welcoming school with a lot of girls who have taken her under her wing like a little sister - they clap for her, cheer each other on- the smiles all around - my goodness the difference is worlds apart. Shes literally thriving. Wish we moved years ago- weremembered quite quickly thatshe loved dancing but just started to hate going to class because of how the last ones treated her and in a school who were only looking their envelope and couldn't give two flying fools about her or her wellbeing.
You live and learn

Move your daughter - she will be better off and not every school is toxic
the whole school culture is crazy different- from kids to parents. We didn't know any better first time round

  • This happens a lot across schools but it’s all in how the teachers manage it. (NT) -- Some bury their heads. Some encourage it. Some don’t care. All leads the same way. Quitting completely, moving or mental health probs., Wed, Mar 19 2025, 23:06:45
  • Our teachers were brilliant! It ended as soon as we brought it to their attention. (NT) -- It will only get worse if your teachers don’t act!, Thu, Mar 20 2025, 12:47:42
  • Some encourage it!!!! Yes 🙌 (NT) -- Pit children against each other, Thu, Mar 20 2025, 13:09:25
